About Kendall Wade
My Journey
Ever since I was little, I have loved film music. The first movie score that stood out to me was The Incredibles. The first time I heard Michael Giacchino’s score, I became obsessed with that movie and with analyzing other film music as well. Later, in middle school, I joined band and began playing clarinet. I quickly expanded to other instruments, including saxophone, piano, trumpet, and more.
Later on, I realized that I didn’t have to just participate in one aspect of the music-making process. I could make the music myself. I downloaded Logic Pro X and began composing. I wrote symphonies, produced beats, and explored a wide range of musical styles, allowing me to develop a much deeper understanding of how to communicate ideas and emotion through music. As I continued composing, I became increasingly interested in the role music plays in film, television, video games, and other visual media. I loved the idea of combining my music with a story and becoming a part of the emotional experience for audiences. The opportunity to contribute to a narrative through music felt like the perfect combination of everything I loved about composing.
Today
Today, I compose for film, television, video games, and other visual media. I am particularly drawn to projects where music plays a significant role in shaping the emotional experience for audiences. Whether I’m writing for psychological thrillers, horror, animated films, disaster films, or a raunchy romantic comedy, I strive to create scores that complement each films’ tone, energy, and artistic vision, while also standing on their own as musical works.
As I continue to move forward and grow as a composer, I’m excited to collaborate on stories that challenge me, both creatively and emotionally. I love being able to work with other creatives to help bring their ideas and stories to life, while simultaneously contributing my own artistic voice through music that leaves a lasting imprint on each project.
